Belgium, 5 September 2021 (TDI): Peter Genyn, a Belgian wheelchair-bound Paralympian won the gold medal by setting a record of 20.33 seconds. He played and won the medal even knowing that 2 hours before the start of the race his wheelchair was damaged. He was competing in category T51 for the sprint events.
Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs congratulated the Belgium team for winning the championship. The result shows that they won four gold, three silver, and eight bronze medals accomplished by team Belgium. The Belgium ministry further expressed gratitude about team Belgium as an inspiration for all of us.
