Beijing (TDI): The Chinese foreign ministry reaffirmed that China has all along believed that “the Palestinians governing Palestine” is the fundamental principle of post-conflict governance of Gaza.

President of the United States, Donald Trump, said during a joint press conference along with his Israeli counterpart that the US will take over the Gaza Strip and will do a job with it too. He described his vision for the area as a new “Riviera”.
Also, President Trump said, “We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site, and get rid of the destroyed buildings”.

Additionally, President Trump did not rule out the possibility of US troops intervening and added that as far as Gaza is concerned, we’ll do what is necessary. He added that if it’s necessary, we’ll do that. We’re going to take over that piece that we’re going to develop.
Overall, President Trump’s remarks faced backlash from leaders and countries around the world. The Palestinian state in particular rejected the idea.
The State of Palestine in a social media post wrote that, “For those who want to send Palestine to a nice place allow them to go back to their original homes in what is now Israel. The Palestinian wants to rebuild Gaza because this is where we belong”.
