Manama, 13 October 2021 (TDI): Bahrain’s Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, received the French Ambassador to Bahrain, Jerome Cauchard at Manama today. The officials discussed bilateral relations between the two states.
During the meeting, Speaker Zainal appreciated the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the French President, Emmanuel Macron, for strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries through continuous cooperation in various fields. Abdulnabi Salman, Bahrain’s First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, also joined the officials for the diplomatic engagement.
Bahrain’s Speaker expressed gratitude towards the French Republic for its continuous cooperation and also admired Ambassador Cauchard’s role in bolstering the French-Bahrain relations, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In addition, Ambassador Cauchard, and Speaker Zainal exchanged views on improving bilateral ties between both states, including the parliamentary field. In this regard, the Bahraini Speaker exhibited her Council’s eagerness to collaborate with the National Assembly of France, through the exchange of experiences and expertise.
