Manama, 29 June (TDI): The Bahraini King, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, held official talks with the President of Egypt, Abdul Fateh el-Sisi, to review potential areas for boosting bilateral relations.

The meeting between the two leaders took place at Sakhir Palace in Bahrain. Both sides reviewed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and strategic partnerships.

This is in a way that helps them achieve mutual benefits and growth, and benefit their people.

During the meeting, the two leaders expressed their keen desire to step up bilateral relations. They look forward to holding talks and consultations in the face of new Arab developments and challenges in the region.

In addition, Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa also commended the contributions of the Egyptian expatriate community in Bahrain. Egypt has contributed to the kingdom’s path towards development.

Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy Supreme Commander and Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, also attended the meeting.

The delegation, comprised of high officials from Bahrain, welcomed the Egyptian president and his accompanying delegation at Sakhir Palace.

In light of this, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa lauded the efforts and role of the Egyptian president in maintaining stability and security in the region.

He highlighted the country’s pivotal role in enhancing Arab relations in the face of challenges experienced by the region.

Outcomes of the discussion

Furthermore, the two leaders went on to discuss areas of common interest and ways to strengthen their partnership.

Emphasis was laid on the importance of coordinating, communicating, and consulting each other on various regional issues. This is to resolve them through dialogue to promote stability.

Moreover, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa appreciated Bahraini-Egyptian long-term relations and strong joint cooperation between the two countries.

He also expressed keenness towards expanding the areas of bilateral cooperation.  He expressed his gratitude towards holding the meeting and said, “We are always keen to hold such meetings in order to enhance cooperation between our brotherly countries in various fields.”
