Bahrain, Egypt, Tunisia, UAE Leaders set for China’s state visit

Beijing, 28 May 2024 (TDI): Hua Chunying, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on May 27, 2024, announced that the heads of state from Bahrain, Egypt, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates would be traveling to China upon the invitation of President Xi Jinping for China’s state Visit.

King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt, President Kais Saied of Tunisia, and President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates will travel to China for China’s state visit at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. The visit will take place between May 28 and June 1.

In addition to that, they will take part in the opening ceremony of the tenth Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum.

Wang Yi, who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs and a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk, who is his counterpart in Mauritanian politics, will serve as co-chairs of the meeting.

Hua Chunying, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, revealed on Sunday that Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to deliver an important address and participate in the inauguration of the 10th ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum.

The meeting, which is scheduled for May 30 in Beijing, has been mutually agreed upon by both China and the Arab side.

Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese foreign minister, will jointly preside over the meeting with Mohamed Salem Ould Merzouk, Mauritania’s minister of foreign affairs, cooperation, and Mauritanians abroad.

The spokeswoman additionally stated that the summit will be graced by the presence of foreign ministers or representatives from Arab governments, along with the secretary general of the League of Arab States.
