Islamabad (TDI): Bahrain has strongly condemned the recent suicide attack at an Imambargah in Islamabad and expressed solidarity with Pakistan, officials said on Thursday.
Bahrain’s Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, spoke with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to convey his condolences and denounce the attack.
According to an official statement, Al Khalifa expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and extended heartfelt sympathies to the families of the victims and those affected.
The attack took place on February 6 during Friday prayers at Imambargah Khadijah al-Kubra in Islamabad’s Tarlai area. At least 32 worshippers were killed and 169 others injured in one of the deadliest attacks in recent years in the federal capital.

The suicide bomber detonated explosives inside the mosque while hundreds had gathered, sending shockwaves across nearby neighborhoods and causing widespread panic.
Calling the incident “an attack against humanity,” Al Khalifa reaffirmed Bahrain’s stance against terrorism in all forms. He praised Pakistan’s ongoing efforts and sacrifices in combating terrorism, emphasizing that Bahrain has always stood with Pakistan and will continue to do so.

Interior Minister Naqvi thanked his Bahraini counterpart for the show of solidarity, highlighting Pakistan’s sacrifices in making the world safer. He also called on the international community to unite in a coordinated and effective fight against terrorism.
