Baku (TDI): The Deputy Defense Minister and Chief of the General Staff of Azerbaijan’s Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, received Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff of Pakistan, during his official visit to the country.

The high-ranking Pakistani naval delegation started their visit by paying respects in the Alley of Shehids in Baku, where they laid wreaths and flowers on the graves of Azerbaijani martyrs who had laid down their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of the country.

The delegation also paid tribute at the Eternal Flame monument, which is a source of national pride and commemoration.

Later, a meeting was held at the General Staff Headquarters, where Colonel General Valiyev received Admiral Ashraf and the delegation. Valiyev said he appreciates the brotherly relations between the two countries and is satisfied with the present state of bilateral military cooperation.

He also stated that the growing strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Pakistan is evidence of their developing defense relations.
