Azerbaijan Foreign Minister welcomes US Envoy for key talks

Baku, 3 June 2024 (TDI): Jeyhun Bayramov, the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, welcomed Louis Bono, the US State Department’s chief advisor for Caucasus negotiations.

Both sides discussed various aspects of Azerbaijan-US bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Additionally, they exchanged views on the regional peace process and the ongoing efforts in the post-conflict period, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration and dialogue between the two nations.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that the growing frequency of interactions between officials from Azerbaijan and the United States has significantly improved the dynamics of their bilateral relationship.

He elaborated on how these intensified contacts contribute to mutual understanding and cooperation.

Furthermore, Minister Bayramov underscored the importance of reciprocal visits, noting that such engagements play a crucial role in strengthening ties and promoting ongoing collaboration between the two nations.

The other party received an in-depth briefing on the current situation in the region following the conflict. This comprehensive update included detailed information on the ongoing negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, focusing on efforts toward normalization and advancing the peace process.

Additionally, they were informed about the latest developments concerning the peace agenda, highlighting the steps being taken to ensure stability and lasting peace in the region.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov highlighted the significance of the recent agreement between them, which entails the return of four occupied villages to Azerbaijan.

He stressed that this agreement serves as a testament to the effectiveness of the bilateral negotiation process.
