Islamabad, 12 June 2021 (TDI): Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Ali Alizada hosted a National Salvation Day reception. During this special event, Ambassador conferred the Jubilee Medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan- “100th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan (1919-2019)”. This medal is conferred on the foreign dignitaries for their special services in the improvement and strengthening of relations with the country.
Three Jubilee Medals were conferred to Omer Ayub Khan, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Sohail Mehmood, Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Humaira Ahmed, Secretary Federal Public Service Commission.
Apart from these high dignitaries thirty media persons and think tanks were awarded certificates of appreciation for promoting Pakistan-Azerbaijan relations for their outstanding contribution through writing and projection of insights about both states.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Ali Alizada shared highlights about the National Salvation Day as one of the important pages in the history of Independent Azerbaijan. He has further added about the deep-rooted strong relations between the two states.
Ambassador has shared about the strong role that Heydar Aliyev, the father of modern Azerbaijan, and how he has guided the nation to glory. And now President Ilham Aliyev is steering the nation with tremendous leadership potential and strength.
Honorable Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Omer Ayub Khan has said that the Pakistani nation is proud of its friendship with Azerbaijan. Pakistan has not recognized Armenia considering the aggressors’ behavior and unjust occupation. Speaking on the occasion Federal Secretary Sohail Mehmood said that Pakistan is grateful to Azerbaijan for the support on the Kashmir issue.
Secretary Federal Public Service Commission Humaira Ahmed congratulated Azerbaijan on National Salvation Day and appreciated the strong diplomatic ties between the two partners. Later awards and certificates were conferred to the outstanding individuals.
On the occasion book on Nakhchivan in the Urdu language was also distributed amongst the guests. This gathering was exclusively arranged for the dignitaries, selective media persons, and think tank representatives.
Azerbaijan celebrates National Salvation day every year on June 15. This is also the day when President Heydar Aliyev became a member of the supreme council and saved the country from the war in 1993
