Ankara, 10 August 2022 (TDI): Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov represented Azerbaijan at the 13th Ambassadors Conference in Türkiye. Minister Bayramov was there at the invitation of Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Chavushoglu.

At the conference, Minister Bayramovm delivered a speech under the theme “Wise and Humanitarian Turkish Diplomacy in 2023 and Beyond”.
Highlights of the Speech
Minister Jayhun Bayramov, began his speech with the words “one nation two nations” and Mustafa Kamal Ataturk’s words, “The joy of Azerbaijan is our joy and sadness is our sadness,” emphasized that Azerbaijan-Turkish relations are now at the highest stage.
Following that, Minister Bayramov reported on the destruction during the Armenian occupation of Azerbaijan for nearly 30 years.
At the same time, Minister Bayramov remembered the beloved memory of Turkish diplomats and family members. These people were caught by ASALA and other Armenian terrorist organizations.
He further added that “Türkiye has always defended Azerbaijan’s just position based on international law, especially during and after the Civil War”.
The Minister commented on the transnational threats in the international system and problems in the enforcement of international law.
He noted that it is important to strengthen cooperation in such an environment and to implement new international cooperation mechanisms.
Minister further noted that the alliance between Azerbaijan and Türkiye focuses on strengthening peace and security in the region.
At the end of the speech, Minister Bayramov wished success to the diplomatic representatives of the brotherly states.

Azerbaijan-Türkiye Bilateral Relations
On 9 November 1991, Türkiye became the first state to recognize the Republic of Azerbaijan, which declared its independence on 30 August 1991. Both states established diplomatic relations on 14 January 1992.
Türkiye’s relations with Azerbaijan are multifaceted at a strategic level. Frequent high-level contacts are the main driving force of bilateral relations.
It became a tradition that, high-level officials visit each other’s countries immediately after assuming office or in the wake of developments with symbolic importance.
