Islamabad, 17 August 2024 (TDI): Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Neil Hawkins visited National Agricultural Research Centre and discussed issues relating to agriculture sector research and development.
The High Commissioner held a meeting with Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali, Chairman Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC) on Friday, according to a press release.
During the meeting, Dr Ali briefed him about PARC and its ongoing high tech research activities.
Following the meeting, the envoy also visited National Institute for Genomics and Advanced Biotechnology (NIGAB) and Plant Genetic Resources Institute (PGRI).
National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) was established in 1984. It is the premier research establishment of the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) at the federal level.

NARC, with a total land area of about 1396 acres, is located near Rawal Lake, 6 kilometers south-east of Islamabad. Physical facilities in term of experimental fields, green houses, gene bank, laboratories, and national insect museum are available in the center.
A national herbarium, library, auditorium, machinery and lab equipment repair workshops, stores, hostels, cafeteria, and audio visual studios, are also available at NARC.
