Islamabad (TDI): Timothy Kane, Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, has extended warm greetings to the people of Pakistan on the commencement of Ramadan, highlighting the important role of the Pakistani diaspora in deepening ties between the two nations.
In his Ramadan message, the High Commissioner noted that Australia is proud to be one of the world’s most multicultural societies, home to more than 800,000 Muslims who contribute significantly to national life.
He particularly acknowledged the Pakistani-Australian community, now numbering over 140,000, for its meaningful contribution in strengthening people-to-people connections and fostering closer relations between Australia and Pakistan.

“Ramadan Mubarak… may this blessed month further deepen the friendship between Australia and Pakistan,” Kane said in his message.
The diplomatic relationship between Pakistan and Australia has steadily grown over the decades, with both countries cooperating across trade, education, and cultural exchange programs. Australia is one of Pakistan’s key partners in promoting educational opportunities, with thousands of Pakistani students pursuing higher studies in Australian universities each year.
