Goroka, 30 October 2021 (TDI): Australian Medical Assistance Team’ (AUSMAT) has deployed a provincial team to Papua New Guinea (PNG). The team will be deployed at Goroka, the capital of Eastern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea.
It will be led by Angela Jackson who met with the CEO of Eastern Highlands Provincial Health Authority Dr. Apa. Angela also met with Dir Curative Health Service, Dr. Kendaura before initiating the clinical work in South Pacific country.

Earlier, Australia had deployed AUSMAT and ADF in Papua New Guinea. AUSMAT is allocated to assist the partner counties during the disasters such as Covid19. It is a verified ‘Emergency Medical Team’ working under WHO.
