Davos/Islamabad (TDI): Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, on Tuesday met with Dr. Rania Al Mashat, Minister of Planning of Egypt, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos.
They discussed ongoing programmes and projects between Pakistan and Egypt.
Aurangzeb apprised Rania about the positive macroeconomic indicators of Pakistan’s economy.

The two leaders agreed to continue discussions on economic and financial matters and emphasized the importance of learning from each other’s experiences.

Separately Aurangzeb also met Maroun Kairouz, Head of MENA and Deputy Head of the Centre for Regions, Trade, and Geopolitics at the World Economic Forum.
The two sides exchanged insights on avenues for cooperation between Pakistan and WEF to foster economic growth and sustainable development.
The minister apprised Kairouz of the government’s commitment to leveraging international partnerships to advance strategic and economic goals.

Meanwhile, the Finance Minister held a separate meeting with Mounir Nakhla, CEO of MNT-Halan, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual moot.
The two officials discussed the ongoing operations of MNT-Halan in Pakistan. The Finance Minister highlighted opportunities for collaboration in digital finance to enhance financial inclusion in the country. He emphasized the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to fostering partnerships in financial innovation to support economic development.
On this occasion, Nakhla expressed his interest in expanding investments in Pakistan’s fintech sector.
