Jakarta, 25 March 2024 (TDI): The Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for Political and Security Community, Dato’ Astanah Abdul Aziz, welcomed the Ambassador of Pakistan to ASEAN, Ameer Khurram Rathore, for a courtesy call at the ASEAN Secretariat on March 25.
Meanwhile, enhancing ASEAN-Pakistan Sectoral Dialogue Partnership and implementation of APSDP: Practical Cooperation Areas were the key areas of discussion.
The meeting aimed to bolster the ASEAN-Pakistan Sectoral Dialogue Partnership, emphasizing practical cooperation areas for the period 2024-2028.
During the meeting, Deputy Secretary-General Dato’ Astanah Abdul Aziz and Ambassador Ameer Khurram Rathore engaged in productive discussions on avenues to further enhance the partnership between ASEAN and Pakistan.
Both parties underscored the significance of robust collaboration in various sectors, affirming their commitment to exploring new opportunities for cooperation.
ASEAN-Pakistan Sectoral Dialogue Partnership (2024-2028)
Further, highlighting the importance of the recently adopted ASEAN-Pakistan Sectoral Dialogue Partnership: Practical Cooperation Areas (2024-2028), the officials deliberated on strategies to effectively implement the agreed-upon initiatives.
These practical cooperation areas encompass a wide range of fields, including trade, investment, education, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
Through concerted efforts, ASEAN and Pakistan aim to deepen their engagement and mutual understanding, fostering greater regional stability and prosperity.
