Islamabad, 18 September 2021 (TDI): The Argentine Republic has decided to purchase Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder jets in a recent draft budget for the year 2022 presented to its Parliament. The Argentine Air Force (FAA) has manifested the plan to purchase 12 PAC JF-17A Block III fighters from Pakistan.
Considering the draft budget for 2022 presented to the National Congress, Argentina has officially included 664 million US dollars in funding to purchase 12 PAC JF-17A Block III fighters from Pakistan. The Argentine Air Force has made the respective decision while abstaining from accepting the similar offers of India, Russia, and the United States of America. The JF-17 Thunder aircraft can be used to perform multiple tasks, including ground attack, interception, anti-ship, and aerial examination.
The JF-17 fighter jets are single-engine, multi-role combat aircraft developed with the collective efforts of Pakistan’s Aeronautical Complex and the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation of China. Around 58% of the jet’s airframe is produced in Pakistan, whereas 42% is produced in the Republic of China; however, the final assembly takes place in Pakistan.
