Banjul, 7 May 2024 (TDI): Ambassador Saima maymunah sayed, today met with the Minister of Internal Affairs of The Gambia, Abdoulie O. Sanyang Esq, in the capital city of Banjul.
The meeting aimed to strengthen bilateral relations and develop cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
Ambassador Saima maymunah sayed and Minister Sanyang deliberated on key areas of collaboration, with a particular emphasis on visa facilitation, professional training initiatives, and capacity-building efforts.
Moreover, both sides recognized the importance of these measures in strengthening relations and promoting a better understanding of their countries
The discussions emphasized the importance of the visa process to facilitate travel between Pakistan and The Gambia and improve people-to-people exchanges.
Ambassador Saima maymunah sayed said Pakistan is committed to supporting initiatives that promote easier access for travelers, students, and business representatives.
Furthermore, the meeting addressed the importance of training programs and capacity building in areas such as law enforcement, security, and administration.
Minister Sanyang welcomed Pakistan’s participation in projects aimed at enhancing skills and expertise within Gambian institutions.
Ambassador Saima maymunah sayed reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to fostering a robust partnership with The Gambia, rooted in mutual respect and shared objectives.
The dialogue between the two officials highlighted the potential for deeper cooperation and identified specific areas for future cooperation.
In response to the discussions, Minister Sanyang expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s ongoing support and looked forward to further strengthening ties through concrete actions.
