Fulbright Scholarship: Facets
189 Pakistani students have received the best Fulbright Scholarship from the US for their chosen field and research at renowned American universities.
This effort came as a result of fostering academic and social exchange between Pakistan and the United States.
Therefore, the recipients will begin their academic careers at eighty-two different universities. However, the highly rated universities fall in a range of subject areas. These include the social sciences, energy management, and environmental sciences.
The Fulbright program is the government of the United States’ premier scholarship program. The US government has contributed $18.44 million dollars to Pakistan’s Fulbright program this year.
As a result, the program is the largest in the world in terms of education funding. In addition, this served as evidence of the United States’ dedication to its seventy-five year old partnership with Pakistan.
Furthermore, the Pakistani government announced plans to provide substantial funding for PhD scholarships. This is via collaboration between the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the US.
Additionally, a record-breaking number of pupils from 47 public and private universities, represented all parts of Pakistan.
They made up the 2022 Fulbright group. Also, they selected seven Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) members and 125 Master’s and PhD students for awards this year.
The government of the United States also contributed to Pakistani higher education in other ways. This is because it benefited the Pak-US bilateral relationship.
Moreover, this includes tens of thousands of need-based and merit-based scholarships for students to attend Pakistani universities.
Hence, the scholarship has enhanced numerous collaborations with ninety-nine universities in Pakistan to improve teaching staff. This was also done to cooperate on research.
The goal of the initiatives to develop a new university has been research, such as in climate resiliency and green energy.
