Ambassador of Somalia honored with Global Ambassador Award

Islamabad, 25 November 2021 (TDI): As a public diplomacy initiative,  Diplomatic Insight Group organized the 4th Global Ambassadors Award Ceremony to acknowledge the services of Ambassadors and diplomats, heads of international organizations, businessmen for the promotion of people to people contact, business, trade, and constructive bilateral relations with their respective states and missions.

As a result of outstanding contribution towards building Pakistan’s strong partnership with Somalia, on behalf of the people of Pakistan,  Diplomatic Insight Group conferred an award to Ambassador Khadija Mohamed Almakhzoumi, Ambassador of Somalia to Pakistan. This was a humble tribute to her hard work and commitment to Pakistan-Somalia relations.

Mrs. Khadija Mohamed Almakhzoumi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, is the real face of true women empowerment representing the Federal Republic of Somalia in the international arena.

She has received her Bachelor of Business Administration University of Southampton, U.K., and got a Master of Business Administration from Anglia Ruskin University, U.K.

Being a young and energetic diplomat, Ambassador Khadija Mohamed Almakhzoumi is one of the most mindful diplomats that Somalian land has ever produced. She joined the Somali Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2008. In 2008-09, she offered her services as Liaison`s Office in the U.K., Ministry of Diaspora, Somalia. From 2010-Jun to 2011, she served as Counselor, Somalia Embassy, Malaysia.

Later on, from 2011 to 2013, Ambassador Khadija Mohamed Almakhzoumi was deployed as the Senior Political Adviser, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Somalia.

From 2013 to 2015, she was appointed as the Charge d` Affairs Somali Embassy of Iraq, and from 2015 to 2016, Mrs. Khadija Mohamed Almakhzoumi found her as the Ambassador of Somalia to Iraq.

Since  2016 she has been serving as the Ambassador of Somalia to Pakistan.

Owning such a brilliant career, her contributions to Pakistan are remarkable. During his tenure in Pakistan, Ministerial meetings were held for the first time. Along with it, the first time a grand Somali Students Graduation Ceremony was held in Pakistan. A New Software System between the Embassy, IBCC, and Ministry of Education Somalia regarding Equivalence Certificates was introduced. She succeeded in getting Students Scholarships, OIC Scholarships from COMSATS, HEC, and other high profile Institutes for Somali students. Moreover, Government to Government agreements were signed: M/S National Database And Registration Authority NADRA of The Islamic Republic Of Pakistan for The Development Of Somali National Identification System (SNIDS). Lastly, MoUs for military training was also signed under her leadership between Pakistan and Somalia.

All in all, her career as a career diplomat has been a ride full of achievements, success, and glory.
