Islamabad, 25 November 2021 (TDI): As a public diplomacy initiative, Diplomatic Insight Group organized the 4th Global Ambassadors Award Ceremony to acknowledge the services of Ambassadors and diplomats, heads of international organizations, businessmen for the promotion of people to people contact, business, trade, and constructive bilateral relations with their respective states and missions.
As a result of outstanding contribution towards building Pakistan’s strong partnership with Morocco, on behalf of the people of Pakistan, Diplomatic Insight Group conferred an award to Mohamed Karmoune , Ambassador of Morocco to Pakistan. This was a humble tribute to his hard work and commitment to Pakistan-Morocco relations.
Serving for more than four decades in the foreign services of Morocco, Ambassador Mohamed Karmoune is one of the senior-most and well-versed diplomats the Land of Morocco ever had. At the moment he’s serving as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
He got his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Sciences, University Mohammed V Rabat in 1980, and Morocco and went to the National Institute of Legal Studies Rabat in 1984.
Ambassador Mohamed joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Cooperation of the Kingdom of Morocco in 1880. In 1982, he was appointed as the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Department of Human Resources, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and served there until 1985 when he got the chance to serve as Vice-Consul, at Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco – New York.
Later on, in 2004, Ambassador Karmoune served as the Head of Division of Ceremonial & Accreditations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and then in 2005, he was selected as Minister Plenipotentiary, Moroccan Mission to the United Nations – New York.
In 2008, he offered his services as the Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco – New York. In 2014 he also rendered his services as Diplomatic Adviser, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On Oct 13, 2016, he became the Ambassador of His Majesty the King of Morocco to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Ambassador Mohamed Karmoune wears two major awards on his chest that include Wissam of the National Merit, Exceptional Category awarded in Feb 1992, and Wissam Al Arch of the Order of Chevalier (Morocco) awarded in July 2006.
The ambassador keeps himself highly engaged in the Pak-Morocco friendship group of Senate and Engage Africa Policy initiative for the purpose of deepening bilateral relations, including political, economic, commercial, cultural, educational exchanges, security and defense, and people-to-people connectivity.
Lastly, for enhancing trade and commerce, Ambassador Karmoune has always coordinated with different Chambers of commerce and industry of Pakistan.
