Kuwait City, 17 January 2023 (TDI): According to Pakistan Embassy Kuwait, Ambassador Malik Muhammad Farooq held a meeting with prominent Pakistani entrepreneurs.
He discussed the essentials of organizing an exhibition for an impending trade delegation from Pakistan.
According to the Embassy, the exhibition will enable Pakistani companies to explore the markets of the Gulf region. The participants pledged their assistance to strengthen the bilateral economic and business links between the two countries.
Pakistani Diaspora In Kuwait
Kuwait hosts over 150,000 strong Pakistani diasporas, contributing significantly to the development and progress of both nations.
They remit Pakistan over $750 million annually. This is one of the key sources of foreign exchange for balancing the nation’s external accounts.
Kuwait- Pakistan Ties
The historical, cultural, and familial ties between the two countries are strong. There are bilateral trade and cultural exchanges between the multiple levels of the government and the general people.
Kuwait reacted kindly to its ally and was among the first countries to provide Pakistan with significant assistance when times were tough.
During the catastrophic earthquake in 2005, the disastrous floods in 2010, and the devastating floods in 2022, the Kuwaiti government generously helped Pakistan.
The yearly bilateral trade volume between these countries approaches $2.5 billion. Pakistan imports a lot of crude oil, rice, cotton, and other agricultural products from Kuwait.
Representatives from both countries make up a joint ministerial commission (JMC), a dynamic body that extends its role toward developing their bilateral relations in all domains.

The successive Pakistani Ambassadors have made every effort to advance the bilateral relationship. Through their diligent efforts, Pakistan and Kuwait have maintained a close political relationship and seen a significant increase in economic cooperation.
