Kenya, 13 September 2021 (TDI): Amb. Macharia Kamau, the Principle Secretary of the Foreign Office of Kenya, conducted a meeting with Maj. (Rtd) John Seii, the Chairman of the Kenyan National Council, and Amb. Mussie Hailu, the founding Director and Executive Director of the Ethiopian Council of elders.
The primary goal of the meeting focused on how to enhance the efforts of elders in society. The discussion took place for aggravating elders’ efforts in the community by tapping the full potential of national and regional organizations for the elderly.
The motive of the conference was to engage two of the bordering nations, i.e., Kenya and Ethiopia, to magnify engagement of elderly people in the society with the help of national and regional organizations of elders to promote the culture of peace, human dignity, interfaith harmony, reconciliation, and inter-cultural harmony.
