Washington D.C, 6 December 2021 (TDI): The Pakistani Ambassador to the United States of America Asad Majeed Khan hosted an online meeting with the Pakistani-US Community in the United States. The meeting is called the e-Kacheri meeting.
E-Kacheri is organized by the Pakistani embassies around the world to connect with its people there. This meeting provides an opportunity for the government of Pakistan to have a one-to-one interaction with its people.
GOAL OF THE MEETING
The goal of the meeting is to understand the problems and changes the Pakistani community in that region and country wants. The government aims to facilitate the public according to its needs. The government arranged the meeting to be more effective in their work.
Asad Majeed Khan interacted with the Pakistani-US community. The Pakistani diaspora interacted and they also discussed important issues addressed by the government. An e-Kacheri is an initiative of the government of Pakistan, to display the democratic values a state needs to promote. As democracy is for the people, the state’s institutions need to address their concerns and also take them into account.
GOVERNMENT REASONS FOR E-KACHERI
The reason behind the conduct of e-Kacheri every month by Pakistani embassies abroad is the concern and aspiration of the Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan Imran Khan. The Pakistani Ambassador to Argentina, Muhammad Khalid Ejaz, explained last week; Prime Minister Khan’s vision. According to Ejaz, that vision is to make groundbreaking efforts for the facilitation of its people abroad.
The conduct of e-Kacheri every month would build trust among the Government of Pakistan and the Pakistani community overseas also. This trust would work both ways it would fulfill the responsibility of a state as a democratic one and also ease the people abroad.
The recent facilitations provided to the government to its people abroad include ‘The Digital Roshan Account’ application that enables Pakistani abroad to use the banking services of banks in Pakistan.
Moreover, the Online Attestation of the Power of Attorney by the government was a relief for US and British Pakistanis. This online attestation saves time and is also more efficient in the processing of the document.
