Islamabad (TDI): The prestigious Global Ambassador Award was conferred on Yusuf Sharifzoda, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan, on Wednesday, in a ceremony organized by Diplomatic Insight Group (DIG).
Ambassador Sharifzoda was awarded for his exceptional leadership in strengthening the friendly, strategic, and brotherly relations between the Tajikistan and Pakistan.
Since assuming his role, Ambassador Sharifzoda has led the Embassy with vision and purpose, building bridges of trust, understanding, and partnership.
He has engaged extensively with government officials, parliamentarians, policymakers, and civil society, fostering meaningful dialogue and long-term cooperation.
Through media and public engagement, he has raised awareness of Tajikistan’s partnership with Pakistan and reinforced the country’s role in regional peace and development. Under his leadership, the Embassy has become a hub for economic and cultural diplomacy.
He has promoted trade, investment, and tourism, encouraged business collaboration, and advanced discussions on restoring direct air connectivity between Dushanbe and Islamabad.
He has also organized the Days of Culture of Tajikistan in Pakistan, showcasing traditional art, music, cinema, and crafts that reflect the shared heritage of both nations.
Beyond bilateral relations, Ambassador Sharifzoda has advocated for Tajikistan’s water and climate diplomacy, emphasizing regional cooperation on climate change.
For his efforts in strengthening friendship and diplomacy, he received the Best Diplomatic Friendship Award 2025 at the EIPA Diplomatic Excellence Ceremony.
His vision of unity, shared growth, and mutual respect continues to inspire both nations toward a future of brotherhood and prosperity.
He has previously served in Department of America and Europe States of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of Tajikistan, as well as the Head of South Asian Section. Prior to Pakistan, he served in Korea and the United Arab Emirates.
In Pakistan, he has also worked as the Head of the Mission at the General Consulate of Tajikistan in Karachi. He advanced the restoration and launch of direct flights between Dushanbe and Islamabad.
