Gujranwala (TDI): The Gujranwala Business Centre (GBC) welcomed Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, Ambassador of the Philippines to Pakistan, along with Fahdel Sheikh, Honorary Consul of the Philippines in Lahore, and Dr. Imran Yousaf, Honorary Consul General of the Philippines for Sindh region.
The Ambassador interacted with members of Gujranwala’s business community and toured the Made in Gujranwala Enclosure, where he admired the quality, innovation, and diversity of the city’s industrial sector.
Chairman GBC, Ahmad Ikram Lone, briefed the Ambassador on GBC’s initiatives and its close collaboration with the Pakistan-Philippines Business Forum (PPBF) to enhance bilateral trade and connectivity.
He also extended his gratitude to Fahdel Sheikh for his continuous efforts in promoting trade relations and fostering closer cooperation between the two countries.
This visit reflects the growing opportunities for business-to-business partnerships and the strengthening of trade and diplomatic ties between Pakistan and the Philippines.
Gujranwala is known as one of Pakistan’s leading industrial hubs, housing diverse manufacturing sectors including textiles, ceramics, electrical goods, and sanitary ware.
The visit was Dr. Fernandez’s maiden visit to the city since he presented his credentials to the President of Pakistan in May, as the new Ambassador.
