Almay, (TDI): Almaty has launched a new delivery service using Yandex Qazaqstan robots, enhancing convenience for residents.
The robots, being accessed through the Yandex Go app, are equipped with lidar, cameras, and a neural network system to navigate city streets, recognize traffic signals, and avoid obstacles.
Each robot, with a 60-liter cargo capacity, can carry items like pizzas and drinks, which customers can access via the app.
Initially, the robots will serve one city district but are expected to expand their range over time, connecting more restaurants and cafes.
Zhanabek Olzhas Nurzhanuly, head of Almaty’s digitalization department, praised the initiative for its potential to make the city greener and more convenient.
