Rabat, 18 November 2021 (TDI): African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, Amb Bankole Adeoye visited Morocco. The Foreign Minister of Morocco Nasser Bourita received AU commissioner.
Likewise, the AU Commissioner held a meeting with the foreign minister of Morocco. Both discussed a wide range of issues including ways to strengthen human security and democracy in the African continent. Morocco’s Foreign Minister reiterated that Morocco supports African Union programs of peace and stability.

Moreover, Morocco’s Foreign Minister and AU Commissioner held a joint press conference. Foreign Minister Bourita pointed out that Africa has all the capacities and skills to overcome the challenges of the continent. He said that the vision of His Majesty, King Mohammed VI makes Morocco an active player, since its return to its institutional family. He remains committed to coming with constructive actions to promote peace and stability in the African continent. Moreover, the Foreign Minister of Morocco expressed his readiness to support the reform process. African states first need to reform the Peace and Security Council, he added. Then, it should work on the reforms in the Commission of Political Affairs, Peace, and Security.
Besides, Bankole Adeoye said in the press conference, “We have all means and tools to provide African solutions to the African problems. It is from this perspective that we work to fight more effectively against terrorism and violent extremism.” Furthermore, he stressed the importance of the reform process, mainly in fields of peace and security by working with all members of the African Union. Morocco is actively participating in the reform process.
Additionally, Adoeye recognized the efforts of Morocco to promote peace, stability, and good governance on the African Continent.
