Cairo, 18 August 2022 (TDI): The Trade Finance Bank of Africa (Afreximbank) has announced that the participants of the Afri-Caribbean (ACTIF2022) Trade and Investment Forum 2022 will be provided with a Barbados visa waiver.

Furthermore, the only African countries which will need a visa are; Libya, Somalia, and Eritrea. Aside from that, citizens of all the remaining African countries will be allowed to travel to Barbados without visas.

The Forum will be held in Barbados. This has been shared in a tweet from the official account of the Trade Finance Bank of Africa, in Cairo.

Afri-Caribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF 2022) will be held in Bridgetown, Barbados, from 1st to 3rd September 2022. It is being organized by the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank).

Furthermore, during the event, Ambassador Albert Muchanga, Commissioner for Trade and Industry African Union (AU) Commission will be expressing his thoughts. He will speak on “One People. One Destiny. Uniting and Reimagining Our Future”.

ACTIF 2022: Salient Objectives

Additionally, 750 participants from Africa and the Caribbean are anticipated to be part of the event. This includes the representatives from both governments and the commercial sector as well as financiers, partners in development, & corporations that encourage trade.

Moreover, the goal of this occasion is to improve ties between the two areas’ business sectors and promote trade and investment.

The Forum will emphasize business-to-business interactions and group meetings on a variety of subjects, such as; facilities and systems, financing, and trade logistics.

Adding to these, it includes regional cooperation, fostering trade and tourism, advancing industrialization, and manufacturing.

Furthermore, creating special economic zones (SEZs) and industrial parks, enhancing agricultural output, broadening agribusiness prospects, and ensuring food security are also on the agenda.
