New York, 21 August 2021 (TDI): On the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to Victims of Terrorism, Afghanistan Permanent Representative Ghulam M. Isaczai delivered a statement on behalf of the Group of Friends of Victims of Terrorism.

In this regard, he mentioned the countless people of Afghanistan who have lost their lives in the longstanding conflict in the country. He stressed that as the Taliban are in power in Afghanistan, they must comply with international rules and norms and maintain peace in the region by refraining from terrorist activities.
In addition, Ghulam Isaczai stated that international platforms are being established with the efforts of Group of Friends such as the forthcoming Global Congress of Victims of Terrorism. The platform will provide a voice to the unsung heroes who faced the ruinous effects of terrorism. They will be provided with the opportunity to share their stories and experiences at the international forum. He also lauded the efforts of the global community which lent its assistance to the countries which are affected by ever-evolving terrorism.
