Afghan Chargé d’Affaires Takes Charge in Oman

Muscat, (TDI): The Afghan chargé d’affaires, Hafiz Omar, has officially assumed his duties at the Afghanistan’s Embassy in Muscat, marking a significant step in re-establishing diplomatic activities in the Sultanate of Oman.

According to a statement from the Embassy, the diplomatic staff of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan are now fully engaged in their routine operations.

The statement emphasized that the resumption of the Embassy’s activities, facilitated by Oman’s support, will play a crucial role in reinforcing political, economic, social, and religious ties between Kabul and Muscat.

This development comes amid ongoing efforts by the Afghan government to restore and maintain its diplomatic presence in the region.

“The Embassy in Muscat is now operational, and the diplomatic team of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is working as per routine,” the statement read.

“This collaboration marks an important milestone in enhancing bilateral relations.”

The Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its gratitude to the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its assistance and cooperation, which was instrumental in the smooth reopening of the Embassy.

The Ministry noted that this partnership would pave the way for deeper engagements and mutual support in various areas of interest between the two nations.

With this diplomatic move, both Kabul and Muscat are expected to engage more actively in fostering stronger ties.
