ADB Delegation, Ahad Cheema Discuss Economic Reforms

Islamabad (TDI): A delegation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Wednesday called on the Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema to discuss the ongoing development priorities and economic reforms.

During the meeting, the ADB executives highlighted the ongoing partnership between Pakistan and ADB, a relationship that had just gotten stronger with President Masatsugu Asakawa’s recent visit to Islamabad.

Speaking on the occasion, Ahad Cheema said the government was dedicatedly working for economic stability through a series of reforms for fiscal improvement and sustainable growth.

He highlighted that the government was focused on digitizing the tax system, enhancing the energy sector, and restructuring the state-owned enterprises.

“These reforms are part of Pakistan’s strategy to fortify its economic base, control inflation, and achieve monetary stability,” he said.

The ADB delegation said the bank will continue to support Pakistan’s reform initiatives, aimed at achieving sustainable development goals and enhancing economic stability in the country.
