Stockholm, 14 September 2021 (TDI): Pakistan’s Ambassador to Sweden and Finland held a virtual meeting with the alumni of Swedish universities in Pakistan. The purpose of the meeting was to enhance educational and scientific cooperation between Pakistan and Sweden.
Sweden and Pakistan enjoy cordial bilateral relations and the countries are working to further strengthen this relationship; especially in the field of education. Hundreds of Pakistani students are studying in prestigious institutions in Sweden; especially at Masters and Ph.D. levels. Pakistan aims to further benefit from the academic opportunities available in Sweden for the students.
According to the Swedish Foundation for International Collaboration in Research and Higher Education (STINT), Sweden ranks at 11th position as a destination country for Pakistani students. Collaboration in the field of research is steadily increasing from the relatively low levels in 2005. The number of co-authored publications has also increased. To further strengthen this relationship, experts from the Swedish Foundation for International Collaboration in Research and Higher Education (STINT) visited various universities and agencies, in 2019, to chalk out the avenues for educational collaboration.
