UK Speeds Up Evacuations from Lebanon

-

London (TDI): The UK has announced additional chartered flights to evacuate citizens and their dependents from Lebanon as Israeli airstrikes on Beirut persist.

On Wednesday, more than 150 British nationals were evacuated to Birmingham, with further flights planned from Rafic Hariri International Airport, contingent on the security situation.

The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is prepared to assist “hundreds” more evacuees in the coming days.

Defense Secretary John Healey visited Cyprus, where 700 British troops are stationed to support potential evacuations.
