Dubai, 15 January 2023(TDI): The UAE participates in the 54th World Economic Forum (WEF) 2024, which will be held in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, from January 15th to 19th.

The title for this year, ‘Rebuilding Trust,’ underlines the importance of reestablishing trust in the face of a wide range of global issues, including geopolitical conflicts, climate change, and technical developments such as artificial intelligence.

Furthermore, the 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum places a strong emphasis on problem-solving, with particular focus on transparency, consistency, and accountability.

The report indicates that over 100 countries, international organizations, and the Forum’s 1000 partner firms, along with civil society leaders, academics, young activists, social entrepreneurs, and the media, are expected to attend the event.

The Davos list includes major names such as Cindy H. McCain, Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP); Ajay S. Banga, President of the World Bank Group; Mohammad Abdulla Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency (IEA); and Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

UAE’s Determination in Global Leadership

Furthermore, the UAE’s active participation in Davos underscores President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s determination to further enhance the UAE’s global leadership position in all areas of collaboration and partnership.

Additionally, it aligns with the directives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, aiming to enhance the UAE’s global economic vitality and innovation.

The objective is to facilitate the exchange of capabilities for the long-term development of the national and international economy.

“Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, stated, ‘The UAE, led by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his brother Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is always eager to participate in the World Economic Forum.”

“This underscores the UAE’s commitment to international debate and knowledge exchange across critical areas and fields. The economic sector holds paramount significance in the UAE and globally, serving as a crucial foundation for development, prosperity, and the well-being of individuals, nations, and humanity as a whole,” he added.

For the second consecutive year, the UAE participates at the 54th World Economic Forum (WEF) 2024. The UAE’s presence has been showcased through an exceptional pavilion themed “Impossible is Possible.”

Over the duration of five days, the UAE will participate extensively in press briefings, open and closed sessions, committee proceedings, and panel discussions on economic, diplomatic, educational, and technological topics such as artificial intelligence, global trade, economic development, and geopolitics.

Reportedly, the UAE plans to host numerous media conferences, bilateral meetings, and sessions on various topics, featuring prominent private sector companies, CEOs of national companies, and officials from both the government and private sector.

In addition, Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, remarked, ‘The UAE looks forward to sharing successful experiences at this crucial forum, inspiring the establishment of similar successful international practices, and contributing to comprehensive, sustainable development for nations and governments.”

The World Economic Forum (WEF) 2024 provides a dynamic venue for major national companies and the UAE’s private sector to share experiences and deepen ties in a variety of sectors.

On top of that, it provides the worldwide potential to strengthen global cooperation and organize the ideals of joint action among governments and institutions.

As per reports, the UAE has been involved in the World Economic Forum (WEF) for more than 20 years, underscoring the country’s leading role in strengthening its standing as the world’s center for economic growth, positive transitions, and forging tomorrow.
