Islamabad (TDI): In a ceremony hosted by ChiÂnese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, and Chinese Defense Attaché, Major General Wang Zhong, the 98th anniversary of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was commemorate, on Tuesday.
PLA is turning 98 on the coming August 1st and Chinese diplomatic mission in Islamabad organized an early event to mark this day of national importance for China.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), was the chief guest at the ceremony.
Other prominent guests included Deputy Head of Mission Chinese Embassy Shi Yuanqiang, MinÂister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Ullah Tarrar and special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatami.
Chairman JCSC extended felicitations to the people of China, its military leadership and all ranks of PLA, while commending the latter’s role in China’s remarkable development and rapid modernization.
General Shamshad called the PLA a pillar of peace, stability and prosperity, while acknowledging China as a stabilizing factor in regional security dynamics.
He also highlighted the enduring and time-tested brotherhood between Pakistan and China, and a shared resolve to broaden and deepen this relationship.
Chairman JCSC reiterated Pakistan’s commitment towards the security of Chinese nationals living and working in Pakistan. He reaffirmed collaboration on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, strengthening defense ties and promoting regional harmony and development.
