8th U.S. -Tajikistan Annual Bilateral Consultations

Washington: July 01, 2021 – (TDI):  Foreign Minister of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, and a delegation from the Government of Tajikistan visited the US for the eighth U.S.-Tajikistan Annual Bilateral Consultations.  The minister was received by the secretary of the United States of America, Antony Blinken. Acting Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs Dean Thompson led the delegation. He stressed the US’ determination to assist the independence, prosperity, and sovereignty of Tajikistan and to enhance their efforts in terms of counter-terrorism. They exchanged views about Afghan Peace Process. Matters of significance, such as human rights, law enforcement, energy, and economy were also discussed in this dialogue. Joint initiatives aimed at enhancing regional connectivity, promoting bilateral trade, and increasing investment opportunities were also talked about. They affirmed each other of working for their mutual goals of harboring religious freedom and dismantling the human trafficking system.
