Islamabad, 23 April 2022 (TDI): On the 20th of April, the China Cultural Center in Pakistan celebrated its seventh anniversary.
The center was launched seven years ago. The President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, and Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif jointly launched it at the Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad.
The establishment of the China Cultural Center in Pakistan was a significant step forward in developing bilateral ties between China and Pakistan. Its goal was to enhance cultural cooperation and exchanges as well as shared understanding and friendship between the two countries’ peoples.
It has been involved in various cultural events, including theater performances, visual art exhibitions, teaching and training, and lectures. The Center in Pakistan has effectively conducted more than 30 large-scale offline exhibitions and 200 online events.
In addition, more than two hundred thousand people attended CCC’s “China-Pakistan Friendship Retrospective Photo Exhibition”, “Beautiful China Photo Exhibition”, “The Belt and Road in My Eyes-Pakistani Student’s Painting Competition Exhibition”, and other events.
Furthermore, over a hundred thousand people attended more than 30 spectacular theatrical performances, including “Happy Chinese New Year”, “China Tourism and Culture Week”, and “Mid-Autumn Festival.”
Over three thousand individuals participated in eleven training and teaching activities. The activities included Chinese martial arts, Chinese cooking workshops, Chinese paper-cut art, etc.
The National Book Festival:
In Pakistan, the China Cultural Center also displayed Chinese cultural features at Pakistan’s “8th and 9th National Book Festival.”
Dr. Arif Alvi, President of Pakistan, also visited the China Cultural Center in Pakistan’s stall and complimented the two countries’ friendship.
More than 500,000 individuals attended the two National Book Fairs. The China Cultural Center in Pakistan hosts a series of “Happy Chinese New Year” events to bring the local community together.
Apart from that, Pakistani universities often conduct talks on topics like “Traditional Chinese Medicine” and “One Belt One Road”. The talks also include topics on Chinese and Western art exchanges and mutual learning. These activities allow instructors and students to engage, resulting in positive outcomes.
Plan to conduct online events:
Moreover, the center will hold online events to commemorate the seven-year journey. This will include events like the “Beautiful China in Postage Stamps” picture show, “Meet Hebei”, “Great Laborers” art exhibition, “Chinese Solar Terms”, and “Poetic Life-Handmade in China”.
The Center will also effectively use social media platforms and other resources in the future to recount China’s narrative. It will help in promoting Chinese voices. It will also help in making constructive attempts to propagate outstanding Chinese culture and boost cultural and tourism interactions.
This will be the creation of a new chapter in the China-Pakistan friendship.
