Tashkent (TDI): The member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) gathered for the 6th Annual Ministerial meeting of the Turkic Council on media and information in Tashkent
The meeting was attended by Ministers and high officials of the Media and Information Department of OTS, hosted by the National Agency of Information and Mass Communication, Uzbekistan.
Followed by the Turkic News Agencies Media Summit last year, this meeting aims to update the core agenda of the alliance by reviving the plan of action and fostering collaboration in the global broadcasting unit while maintaining authenticity and accuracy.
Since the inception of OTS, which is comprised of 6 member states and 4 observatory bodies, this integration embarked on remarkable initiatives under Turkic World Vision 2040 in the fields of economic and trade cooperation, education, sports, transportation, promotion of Tourism and cultural heritage, mobility of digital technology in the region.

Media and Information sector is the key area of cooperation within the framework of comprehensive relations by holding Ministerial meetings, annual meetings of the working group, organizing forums, seminars, training programs, and experience-sharing events.
The first part of the forum featured the meetings and presentations; meanwhile, the sessions of panel discussions were also organized to provide a platform for exchanging ideas and strategies to address the most pressing challenges in the media landscape.
This forum covered two main topics: “The Current State and Future Prospects of Cooperation Among OTS Member States in the Information Sector” and “Combating Disinformation and Fake News in the Era of Global Information.”
Deputy Secretary General OTS, Merey Makazhan, emphasized the media’s role in shaping the future; he ensured that the Turkic world would become a source of truthful and constructive information to reach new horizons.
