Bangkok, 18 August 2022 (TDI): Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Secretariat has stated that at the APEC 2022 Forum, the delegates from the 60th APEC Tourism Working Group Meeting are coming together for discourse. The session will last for two days.
The purpose is to enhance cooperation and discuss the strategies to revitalize the tourist industry in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. This was tweeted by the official account of the APEC Secretariat.

Thailand is going to host the APEC 2022 event, where it is announced that the annual APEC Economic Leaders will meet on the 18th and 19th of November in Bangkok.
Furthermore, members of the meeting will reiterate their full commitment to stabilizing the regional economic advancement, assure regional unity, and improving sustainability for future growth.
Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs at Thailand, Thani Thongphakdi said, “entering the third year of the pandemic, economic recovery has become a matter of utmost urgency for all member economies”.
He further added that “We must embrace inclusiveness and sustainability in our growth strategy, balancing between health, economy, and the environment”.
APEC: An Overview
A regional economic conference, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) has 21 member economies from the Asia-Pacific area.
Since its inception in 1989, APEC has placed a strong emphasis on fostering regional economic integration in a welcoming atmosphere and without legal stipulations.
Aside from that, APEC has made every effort to adapt to and deal with unprecedented problems. These are the problems that have had an impact on the region’s economic well-being in the now-extended COVID-19 era.
Moreover, Putrajaya Vision 2040 for the region was established with the goal of enhancing the openness, dynamism, resilience, and peace of the APEC economy.
