APEC: An Overview

A regional economic conference, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) has 21 member economies from the Asia-Pacific area.

Since its inception in 1989, APEC has placed a strong emphasis on fostering regional economic integration in a welcoming atmosphere and without legal stipulations.

Aside from that, APEC has made every effort to adapt to and deal with unprecedented problems. These are the problems that have had an impact on the region’s economic well-being in the now-extended COVID-19 era.

Moreover, Putrajaya Vision 2040 for the region was established with the goal of enhancing the openness, dynamism, resilience, and peace of the APEC economy.
