6,000 Students Benefit from ‘English Works’

Lahore (TDI): United States’ Ambassador Donald Blome, along with Consul General in Lahore Kristin Hawkins, recently inaugurated the next chapter of the U.S.-funded “English Works”. This program welcomed 150 new students in Sialkot.

The initiative aims to boost young Pakistanis with essential English language, entrepreneurial, and leadership skills. This will prepare them for future success.

Ambassador Blome said that the program has made significant strides in boosting young people, with 6000 graduates all over Pakistan since 2015.

He outlined the program’s potential impact on youth development in Pakistan.

During the event, the Ambassador stated, “These skills will enhance young Pakistanis to become community leaders who will contribute to a prosperous, proud, and peaceful future of Pakistan.”

The initiative serves as a testament to the enduring partnership between the United States and Pakistan, the envoy added.

He said that the U.S. government is committed to investing in the future of Pakistan by developing educational growth.

In Lahore, Ambassador Blome also met with the members of the Central Punjab Chapter of the Pakistan-U.S Alumni Network.

This program brought together Pakistani professionals who have participated in the U.S. exchange program.

It plays key roles in various sectors such as business, education, government, and non-profit organizations.

The contribution of U.S.-funded programs fueled experience, expertise, and knowledge to strengthen U.S-Pakistan bilateral relations.

The expansion of English Works! reflects the United States’ current dedication and efforts to support the country’s educational and economic development in the future.
