Paris, 10 August 2021 (TDI): Today marks the 228th anniversary of the establishment of the art gallery Louvre. On this day in 1793, an art gallery was formed in a former royal residence, known as Louvre. It opened its door for the public. Its official name is French Grand Louvre. The art gallery Louvre is the world’s second-largest museum and a historic building in Paris. The Louvre Museum is also housed in the Louvre Palace. It is an intersection of French renaissance and modern architecture with the further addition of the famous glass pyramid which was designed by I.M. Pei in 1989.
