Zhang Ming, secretary-general of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization shared his written message on the occasion of the celebration of the SCO Countries Art Exhibition of Children and Young Artists, an online event that kicked off on Friday.

This art exhibition is jointly organized by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Good-Neighborliness and Friendship Cooperation Committee and the All-China Women’s Federation, the Ministry of Education, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the SCO Secretariat, the Uzbekistan SCO People-to-People Diplomacy Center, the Beijing Russian Cultural Center and other institutions focusing on the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The event has reviewed the wonderful experiences of previous children’s art exhibitions since 2019, jointly held by the Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission (GNFCC) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), All-China Women’s Federation and other hosts and organizers.

Zhang Ming, the SCO Secretary-General, and Cui Li, Vice President of GNFCC delivered speeches in written forms for this event. As the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games is approaching, more than 1200 artworks themed with the Winter Olympics will be exhibited at this exhibition.

The theme is to advocate acquaintances and blind dates among young people in the SCO countries. More than 1,200 paintings of young people from China and foreign countries are collected, and the websites of the Chinese sponsors will be displayed in batches.

Cui Li said that the Children’s Art Exhibition is one of the most popular activities held by the SCO Peace Committee, and the theme of the Winter Olympics has received warm responses from all parties.

Young friends from SCO countries overcome the impact of the epidemic and actively submitted articles to the organizing committee, expressing their love for ice and snow sports, their encouragement to Olympic athletes, and their most sincere expectations for the Beijing Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics.
