Islamabad, 8 August 2024 (TDI): The prosecution, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), has chosen not to call fourteen of its witnesses, bringing the £190 million corruption case to an end. The case was being heard against former PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
Cross-examination of 35 prosecution witnesses has already been completed by the defendants’ attorneys, who also include former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi.
The defendants are now free to introduce their own witnesses and evidence as the cross-examination phase has come to an end due to the number of witnesses being reduced.
Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the Islamabad Accountability Court-I oversaw the case’s hearing on Wednesday in a courtroom inside the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, where Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are being held. They were in the courtroom together.
