Columbia (TDI): At least 11 people were taken to the hospital after gunfire broke out on Sunday night in a quiet South Carolina beach community, police said.
The shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m. local time on a residential street near the Intracoastal Waterway in Little River, a small town about thirty-two kilometers northeast of Myrtle Beach.
The conditions of those wounded remain unknown, according to Horry County Police, which said that more victims may have shifted to the hospital in private vehicles.
Officials said that the investigation to the case has been started. They cautioned people to avoid the area while emergency activities underway.
About 90 minutes after the incident, police said that the incident was believed to be isolated and that there was no further threat to the community.

Dozens of police vehicles and ambulances could be seen at the shooting site in a video footage.
In a separate incident, a North Myrtle Beach police officer accidentally shot himself in the leg at a marina located about five kilometers from the original shooting site.
