US donated Medical Equipment to Philippines

Manila, 22 October 2021 (TDI): The Indo-Pacific Command of the US donated medical supplies to the Philippines. The supplied donation included vaccine cold storage units for Covid-19 vaccines and intensive care units beds.

The US Embassy in Manila reported that the US made this donation at the request of the Palawan provincial government. The Health Department of the US arranged the donation for Palawan province to combat a high surge in Covid-19 cases. The US Embassy Manila also reported that the donated ICU beds and the cold storage facilities will increase the capacity of the health services in the province. Additionally, the cold storage facilities will also prove vital in the ongoing vaccination efforts in the Philippines.

The US has also donated about $1.9 billion to the Philippines to combat Covid-19 and has also been donating vaccines to help the country recover from the Covid-19. Moreover, it will help elevate bilateral relations between Manila and Washington.
