Ankara (TDI): Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday inaugurated a new embassy complex in Ankara during his official visit to Turkiye.
During the inauguration ceremony of Ukraine’s embassy building, Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his gratitude to President of Turkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for inviting him during these difficult times of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Volodymyr Zelensky said, “Today, it is an honor for me to arrive in Turkiye at the invitation of President Erdogan. This is a significant official visit of our delegation at such crucial times and it is very important that we have support, friendly relations with Turkiye, and of course with President Erdogan.”
He further stated that the project of the new embassy building was approved back in 2019.
The walls of the embassy grew taller with the increased cooperation and improvement in bilateral relations of both countries, he said.

He termed the embassy’s new building as a sign of Ukraine-Turkiye strategic partnership.
Zelensky also met the Ukrainian nationals working in Turkiye and said they played a positive role in Ukraine-Turkiye relations.
After the opening ceremony of the embassy building, President Volodymyr Zelensky called on President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

They discussed food security amid conflict in Ukraine, joint efforts for security assurances for Ukraine, and the repatriation of Ukrainian captives from Russia.
Zelensky highlighted the global initiatives that could help end the Russian-Ukraine war.
Both leaders discussed the bilateral relations, economic problems, and cooperation in the sectors of education and food security.
