Lusaka, 30 September 2021 (TDI): Mizuuchi Ryuta, Japan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Zambia, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization Representative, Khaled El Mekwad, signed and exchanged notes on the project’s execution on 28 September 2021, in Lusaka.
The Government of Japan has extended its grant support to Zambia until the current fiscal year. UNIDO will collaborate with Japan and Zambia to undertake the project “Promoting Youth Employment via Construction Equipment Operator Skills Training,” which will be funded by Japan with 417,000,000 Yen, Japanese currency.
The project’s goal is to expand the number of job possibilities for young people by teaching them to operate construction equipment. As a result, the project is intended to help Zambia expand its infrastructure and grow its economy.
Japan collaborates with UNIDO on various African nation’s development sectors such as human resource and industrial development through vocational training.
