Xi Urges Greater Achievements, Global Contributions

Beijing, (TDI): President Xi Jinping has reaffirmed China’s commitment to achieving greater national progress and contributing to global peace and development.

Addressing a reception at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Monday to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Xi emphasized the country’s role in shaping a more harmonious and prosperous world.

He highlighted the importance of the Chinese people making “more remarkable achievements” to advance humanity’s shared aspirations for peace and development.

The president spoke in the presence of senior CPC leaders, including Premier Li Qiang, and around 3,000 Chinese and international guests.

In his address, Xi paid tribute to the people of all ethnicities in China, the officers and soldiers of the People’s Liberation Army and the People’s Armed Police Force, as well as to other political parties and individuals without party affiliation.

He extended heartfelt greetings to compatriots in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, as well as overseas Chinese communities, and expressed appreciation for the support extended by friendly countries and international partners.

Reflecting on China’s ongoing journey of national rejuvenation, Xi outlined the central objective of building a strong nation through “Chinese modernization.”

He emphasized that advancing this mission is the most fitting way to celebrate the PRC’s milestone anniversary.

President Xi called for steadfast adherence to the CPC’s leadership role and the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

He underscored the need for deepening reforms, expanding opening-up policies, and maintaining a people-centric development approach while adhering to peaceful development principles.

One Country, Two Systems Framework

He reiterated Beijing’s commitment to the “One Country, Two Systems” framework, stressing the importance of ensuring long-term prosperity and stability in Hong Kong and Macao.

On Taiwan, Xi reaffirmed that it remains an integral part of China, urging the need to enhance economic and cultural cooperation across the Taiwan Strait while firmly opposing any separatist moves aimed at “Taiwan independence.”

In a broader message to the international community, Xi highlighted the shared destiny of people around the world and called for fostering a global community with a shared future.

As China enters a new era of development, Xi cautioned against potential risks and uncertainties, urging the nation to stay vigilant and be prepared to tackle unforeseen challenges.
