# World Leaders, Foreign Diplomats Condemn Quetta Blast

ISLAMABAD: World Leaders and diplomatic missions in Pakistan have strongly condemned the deadly terrorist attack on a railway station in Balochistan’s capital Quetta which killed at least 26 people and injured 62 others.

**Russian President**

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed Moscow’s unwavering commitment to work closely with Pakistan in combating extremism and safeguarding citizens from violent acts.

In a letter addressed to Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister, Putin condemned the “barbaric crime” and called for justice for the perpetrators.

“We are determined to continue close cooperation with our Pakistani partners against all forms and manifestations of terrorism,” Putin wrote.

Turkiye**

Turkiye also condemned the attack in the strongest possible terms. “We extend our condolences to the people of Pakistan and wish a speedy recovery to those injured,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.

“We will continue to support Pakistan in its fight against terrorism,” the ministry added.

The Turkiye mission in Pakistan also condemned the deadly attack on its official X account.

Malaysia****
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim conveyed his heartfelt condolences, writing, “On behalf of Malaysia, I extend our deepest condolences to the people of Pakistan, who mourn this senseless and devastating loss.” His message was posted on X (formerly Twitter).

United States****
The US Mission to Pakistan also condemned the attack and extended deepest condolences to the victims and their families. In a social media post, the Mission stated, “The United States will continue to stand with Pakistan in preventing such acts of terrorism against civilians and soldiers.”

United Kingdom****
British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott expressed solidarity with Pakistan, stating that the UK stands firm in condemning terrorism and violence.

Increasing Terrorism in Pakistan**

Pakistan, particularly its Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces, has seen a sharp rise in terrorism-related incidents in recent months. According to a report by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), an Islamabad-based think tank, Pakistan has recorded 785 terrorist attacks in the first 10 months of 2024.
