WHO Representative launches campaign at Pakistan Girls Guide Association office

Islamabad, 11 October 2021 (TDI): On Monday, World Health Organization’s Representative in Pakistan, Dr. Palitha Mahipala visited the Pakistan Girls Guide Association headquarters.

The national commissioner of the Pakistan Girls Guide Association, Maria Maud Sabri received Dr. Palitha. The main purpose of the visit was to boost his mask-wearing campaign. Dr. Palitha launched the “Wear a Mask & Save Pakistan” campaign on the occasion of International Day of the Girl at Pakistan Girls Guide Association headquarters.

As a part of the campaign, he distributed masks to the students, members, guides, and staff. On the special occasion, he commented that “Girl child’s health is the WHO priority”. He further added, “We need to put a collective effort into improving the wellbeing & health of girls.”

Moreover, Dr. Palitha advised all the members, students, and staff of the association on adherence to public health measures and getting vaccinated. He said that it is our responsibility to follow the preventive health measures to stop the further spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus.
